Dear Resident, Here is our weekly update from the Northfield Neighbourhood team. Our Priorities - Retail Crime & High Street Safety: Addressing shoplifting and antisocial behaviour on Northfield High Street through partnership with the Northfield Business Improvement District (BID)
- Targeting Drug Offences: Increasing patrols to address reports of drug use and dealing, with Operation Wayfarer focusing on disrupting these issues.
- Begging and Street Population: Addressing issues around street begging, drug use and anti social behaviour in public spaces.
- Crime Prevention & Youth Intervention: Focussing on reducing shop theft, providing early intervention and tackling organised crime in the Birmingham area
What’s been happening? - Engaged with shops in and around the area of Middlemore Road/ West Heath Road
- Engaged with shops in the area to collect CCTV for ongoing offences
- Patrols of Northfield Highstreet searching for shoplifting offenders and other persons of concern.
Good News Officers arrested an offender this week, PCSOs assisted in the arrest and he was later charged with a further offence and was due to attend court.
